Originally installed for the International Surrealist Exhibition held at the Galerie des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1938,
"Car Naval. Rainy Taxi" by Salvador Dalí was recreated at the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres, Catalonia, Spain, in 1974. A black Cadillac convertible is one of four main, interconnected elements of a large installation in the open atrium just inside the museum's entrance. (Dalí and his wife Gala had used in the car in the United States while living there from 1940 to 1948.) A pair of vine-draped mannequins seated in the vehicle are subjected to a rainstorm from the car's ceiling any time a visitor deposits a coin in a box on the side of the car.
On the car's hood stands a statue of a rotund Queen Esther, given to Dali by Austrian artist Ernst Fuchs. A tower of tires rises immediately behind the car and is topped by a full-size boat supported by two golden crutches. Then, at the very tip of the vessel's mast, an umbrella opens and closes while the interior rain falls.

Al capó del cotxe hi ha una estàtua d'una reina Ester rodona, regalada a Dalí per l'artista austríac Ernst Fuchs. Una torre de pneumàtics s'aixeca immediatament darrere del cotxe i està rematada per un vaixell de mida completa recolzat per dues crosses daurades. Aleshores, a la punta del pal del vaixell, s'obre i es tanca un paraigua mentre cau la pluja interior.
