The Boardwalk runs in two segments, on either side of the train tracks for the Connecicut rail line. The north side begins just east of the parking area for Cini Memorial on a jetty that extends into the Niantic River. It offers great views of the river and the harbor beyond. This side of the boardwalk merges with the sidewalk on the other side of the river, then continues into Niantic.
The south side of the Boardwalk also begins in the Cini park parking area, and continues to the west along the beach, eventually terminating at Hole-in-the-Wall beach, a popular spot for swimming, sunbathing and watching sunsets. Please note that a beach pass is required to access the beach between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
Cini Memorial Par, the starting point for the boardwalk includes a canoe/kayak launching pier, a handicap accessible fishing pier, restroom facilities and access to sports fishing charter boats.
Length: 7,800 feet, including both sides of the tracks.
