Hillsong has its beginnings in 1977 with Frank Houston as the pastor, His son, Brian took over the church and was able to establish the church as a multinational church with campuses across the work.
It is well know for its Pentecostal preaching and use of music which attracts followers to participate in the worship.
This location is the global headquarters and the largest church in Australia but it has many branches across the states of Australia and also in the United States and other countries.
It has an extensive social welfare program and now has an extensive online worship program which was developed in COVID 19 times
