Northeast of Gorssel, on the Dortherweg, you will find the JEUGDHERBERG, originally a house, 'De Kleine Haar'. The building is situated north of the Bathmenseweg in the so-called 'Kring van Dorth'. The property was donated in 1910 by the Norwegian king to the Opperhoutvester of the Dutch Royal House Mr. Tutein Nolthenius. Initially, the house was built in Diepenveen (Averlo). In 1924, the son of the Opperhoutvester moved to the current location, for which the building had to be rebuilt. The youth hostel is built in Norwegian style and stands out for its good proportions and characteristic details such as the richly decorated verandas. From 1934 the building has been used as a youth hostel. Before 1982, the building was temporarily closed due to the risk of fire. During this period, the building was restored by Finnish craftsmen.
The main building is a Dutch National Monument.
The main building has recently been renovated and meets all the requirements of today.
8 family rooms have been created in separate outbuildings.
A reservation always includes breakfast and bed linen. Wi-Fi is free and guests can visit the restaurant and bar.
There is a bicycle rental service and info is available for visiting tourist attractions in the area.
