The vast majority of those who follow a religion in the Turks and Caicos Islands are Christian. The Baptist group got their origins almost 200 years ago on the main island of Grand Turks. With the boom in tourism on the norther islands the religious focus has shifted there. On the island of Providenciales there is the international airport along with several churches that have been built in the last 20 years. There are several Baptist churches here now including this one.
