[ES] “La estatua de este insigne Jefe Scout, réplica del busto original que se conserva en la casa-museo que le está dedicada en Londres, se instaló en 1982 en un vial aledaño al acceso del Zoo de la Casa de Campo de Madrid, estimándose idóneo el lugar por la simbólica alusión del importante zoológico madrileño (asentado desde 1969 en el Parque de la Casa de Campo) a la naturaleza y el mundo animal, tan cercanos al Movimiento Scout y al mundo de los niños y adolescentes, ya que se donaba a la niñez y juventud escultista española por la Asociación Nacional Escultista Mexicana Caballeros y Guías Aztecas de Hacienda a través de la Asociación Escultista Española Baden Powell y de la villa de Madrid con motivo del 70 aniversario de la creación del escultismo en España.
Es un busto de bronce que representa la figura de Baden Powell hasta debajo de los brazos, en posición cruzada sobre el pecho; vestido con la típica camisa y chalina de los boy-scouts y tocado con el característico sombrero, mantiene la cabeza ligeramente alzada como elevando su pensamiento hacia metas lejanas.
El busto está apoyado sobre una base inferior, también de bronce, de dimensiones 0,13 x 0,47 x 0,25 m y con una inscripción en su frente principal, en caracteres sobrepuestos, que dice:

[EN] “The statue of this distinguished Chief Scout, a replica of the original bust kept in the house-museum dedicated to him in London, was installed in 1982 in a road near the entrance to the Casa de Campo Zoo in Madrid, considering it suitable for place for the symbolic allusion of the important Madrid zoo (settled since 1969 in the Casa de Campo Park) to nature and the animal world, so close to Scouting and the world of children and adolescents, since it was donated to the Spanish scouting children and youth by the National Mexican Scouting Association Caballeros y Guías Aztecas de Hacienda through the Spanish Scouting Association Baden Powell and the town of Madrid on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the creation of scouting in Spain.
It is a bronze bust that represents the figure of Baden Powell up to under the arms, in a crossed position on the chest; Dressed in the typical shirt and scarf of the boy-scouts and wearing the characteristic hat, he keeps his head slightly raised as if raising his thoughts towards distant goals.
The bust rests on a lower base, also made of bronze, measuring 0.13 x 0.47 x 0.25 m and with an inscription on its main front, in superimposed characters, which says (in Spanish, literal translation):
