About the Kiwani's Assen:
"Kiwanisclub Assen is characterized as an open circle of friends who together initiate projects, especially for children. By bundling knowledge and management skills, the members are able to devise and realize activities/projects together that have more effect than if you were to do this alone.
Project examples from the past are: New Year's concert with Willem Friso Kapel, the geranium market for many years, wood chopping, World Games for the disabled, tours, Oranjemarkt Assen, art auction, informal care weekend to Schiermonnikoog, DIY days, Christmas packages, and so on. The proceeds of these projects were always intended for charities large or small, from the large multi-year project for the parent-child center in the Wilhelmina hospital to contributions for the food bank and petting zoo. The proceeds are always intended for the Asser Kiwanis Children's Fund and then paid out to charities."
