In de natuurgebieden rondom Ede vind je ruim 80 kilometer aan uitdagende mountainbikeroutes bij Ede, Otterlo en Lunteren.
De mountainkbike of ATB. Routes voor de liefhebbers van klimmen, mul zand en smalle bospaadjes. De routes zijn met zorg door natuur en mountainbike experts uitgezet in het Edese landschap.
"De gemeente Ede heeft veel bos en heide in haar bezit: in totaal 2.461 hectare bos en andere natuur. Hiermee heeft het, het meeste bos van alle gemeenten in Nederland. De Gemeente kiest om zelf boseigenaar te blijven en gaat voor duurzaam en gevarieerd bosbeheer (Urban Forestry). De bossen hebben dan ook een belangrijke rol in de samenleving. Vandaar ook de aanleg van een mountainbike netwerk.
De mountainbikeroutes in deze omgeving zijn gelegen in het gebied ten noordoosten van Ede (Luntersche Buurtbosch, Driesprong, De Valouwe, Edese bos, Roekelsche bosch). Dit gebied kent vele prachtige bosgebieden.
Deze route voert langs en door de vele mooie bos- en heidegebieden die Ede rijk is met als centrale middelpunt De Ginkelse Hei. De omgeving kenmerkt zich door afwisselende landschappen waar veel diersoorten zoals edelherten en wilde zwijnen maar ook grote grazers zich vrij mogen en kunnen bewegen.
Aard van de route
De route in Ede is een combinatie van uitdagende singletracks met ieder hun eigen charme. De route bevat technisch bochtenwerk, snelle delen met goed lopende kombochten en pumptrack-onderdelen.
Er is goed gebruik gemaakt van de hoogteverschillen in de verschillende gebieden wat zorgt voor een heerlijke flow. De route wordt afgewisseld met verbindingsstukken die helpen om even op adem te komen.
Het is een uitdagend parcours voor zowel beginners als gevorderden."

"The municipality of Ede owns a lot of forest and heathland: a total of 2,461 hectares of forest and other nature. This means that it has the most forest of all municipalities in the Netherlands. The municipality chooses to remain a forest owner and opts for sustainable and varied forest management (Urban Forestry) The forests therefore play an important role in society, hence the construction of a mountain bike network.
The mountain bike trails in this area are located in the area northeast of Ede (Luntersche Buurtbosch, Driesprong, De Valouwe, Edese bos, Roekelsche bosch). This area has many beautiful forest areas.
This route leads along and through the many beautiful forest and heath areas in Ede, with De Ginkelse Hei as the central point. The area is characterized by varied landscapes where many animal species such as red deer and wild boar, but also large grazers are allowed and able to move freely.
Nature of the route
The route in Ede is a combination of challenging single tracks, each with its own charm. The route contains technical corners, fast parts with well-running banked turns and pump track parts.
Good use has been made of the height differences in the different areas, which ensures a wonderful flow. The route is interspersed with connecting pieces that help you catch your breath.
It is a challenging course for both beginners and experts."
