Near the entrance to the cemetery is the headstone of the centenarian Giovanna Cutajar. Giovanna died on May 22, 2016. There is a photo of her on the headstone.
Savior Cutajar is also mentioned and pictured on the same headstone. He died aged 52 on March 26, 1967. It was probably her husband..

Giovanna Cutajar has experienced both World War I and World War II. The Second World War in particular was a hard time for the residents of Malta. The Allies had naval bases on the island which brought about many air attacks from Germany and Italy. Malta was subjected to over 3,000 air raids in two years and thus entered history as one of the most bombed places during the war. In many places, large shelters with long corridors have been dug. Here in Mellieha, too, there is a 500 meter long shelter that the inhabitants hid in. Maybe Giovanna and her family too.
