Actuellement, à Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière, à proximité de l’Espace Naturel Sensible de la tourbière de l’Herretang, le Département a procedé à la rénovation du four de la tuilerie Jay, de l’atelier et de la grange qui servait au stockage des fagots.

Accessible aux personnes à mobilité réduite, le site présente cette importante activité de fabrication de tuiles qui s’est développée, dès le milieu du XIXe siècle, à partir de l’argile prélevée dans les marais.

Currently, in Saint-Joseph-de-Rivière, near the Sensitive Natural Area of ??the Herretang peat bog, the Department has renovated the Jay tile kiln, the workshop and the barn which was used for storing fagots.

Accessible to people with reduced mobility, the site presents this important activity of manufacturing tiles which developed, from the middle of the 19th century, from clay taken from the marshes.
