A book about Malta's old capital Mdina built by the Arabs in 870 AD. Mdina is also known as ‘Notabile’ or ‘Citta` Vecchia’. The city is located on a 200 m high plateau and you can see it from afar. Large parts of the city were destroyed by an earthquake in 1632 but were rebuilt, which is why it appears as a medieval city.
The book has both text and beautiful pictures and is good as a preparation for visiting the city, or as a memory of a visit.
You can't drive a car in the city, but have to walk through many narrow streets. And therefore you also get time to see the beautiful buildings and the many quirky details, such as gargoyles and the many fine doors with funny door knockers.
Expect many visitors around the district.
