Ronald McDonald Lastentalosäätiö perustettiin vuonna 1996 ja rahankeruun päätteeksi saatiin avattua Suomen ensimmäinen ja toistaiseksi ainoa Ronald McDonald Talo Meilahden idylliselle huvila-alueelle. Talo koostuu kolmesta eri hirsirakennuksesta joissa on yhteensä 14 perhehuonetta vierailijoiden käyttöön. Näissä huoneissa voi koko perhe majoittua kun lapsi odottaa Uuden lastensairaalan hoitoaikaa tai hoitojaksot vaativat pidempää asumista alueella.
The Finnish Ronald McDonald House Charity Foundation was founded in 1996 and after successful fund raising they managed to open the first Ronald McDonald House in Finland. So far this is also the only one in Finland. The house consists of three separate wooden houses with a total of 14 family rooms. The whole family can live in these rooms while children waits for treatment in HUS New Children’s Hospital.
