When investigating this waymark category (before a trip to the US), I was wondering if the Netherlands (my homecountry) has a similar organization. Beschermde Wieg (EN translation: Protected Cradle) is the organization helping young mothers/pregnant women in their difficult time.
According to their website:
"In the Netherlands, there is a group of care-avoiding pregnant women who are not reached by regular care. With all its consequences. Until 2015, an average of 5 foundlings were found annually in the Netherlands. Most of the babies were dead. Since its opening in 2014, the foundation has been committed to reaching these women in need.
She offers low-threshold preventive help and guidance, anonymous if desired, in order to promote a safe birth, with the aim that babies are not left behind in an unsafe place or killed. Women are given objective consultations, during which all bottlenecks and options are discussed.
