"Karsten Thot The Karsten Thot Bridge was built in 1932 in Wahiawa over the north fork of the Kaukonahua stream. It was named after Karsten Thot, who was a prominent community-minded citizen and it was built by a prominent Honolulu businessman, who was a prolific builder. Karsten Thot was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, on Feb. 12, 1889. He came to Hawaii in 1904. Thot died in 1932, the year the bridge was under construction. When built, the bridge was said to be an important transportation link between the North Shore and Honolulu, contributing to the growth of Wahiawa." (visit link)
