View of the capital of the Faroe Islands, Thorshavn. Thorshavn is located on the east coast of the Faroe Islands' largest island, Streymoy, and has a population of 13,911 (2022).
The city is photographed a well-known viewpoint, which is called the Southwest Viewpoint of Torshavn. From here you can see the whole city including the harbour. In the harbor you can see the ferry to Denmark. The tall green building is the new hospital, which is very distinctive in the cityscape. You can also see that the city is surrounded by fields where sheep graze. Of course, because there are more sheep than people in the Faroe Islands.
Behind the city you can see another Faroese island called Eysturoy. Here you can see that it is sunny, but over Thorshavn it is cloudy. A very common phenomenon in the Faroe Islands.
