El reloj de Zubitxea consta de un aro metálico de color negro, con marcas para las horas (más grandes las de las 3, 6, 9 y 12), con ausencia de números, y una lámina de vidrio que cubre las manecillas, también de color negro. La aguja de las horas muestra una circunferencia cerca de su extremo.
El edificio situado en este mismo lugar, que albergaba una sucursal del Banco de Vizcaya, fue destruido durante los bombardeos de mayo de 1937, en la Guerra Civil Española.
En la década de los años 50, bajo el proyecto denominado 'Regiones Devastadas', se reconstruyeron los edificios bombardeados durante la guerra.
En los años 60, de nuevo una entidad bancaria ocupó el bajo y el primer piso de este edificio, y en la fachada que daba a la entonces llamada Plaza Zubitxea, se colocó este reloj.
La última entidad bancaria que estuvo presente en estos locales fue el Banco Pastor, y desde 2015, la carnicería Alberdi disfruta del reloj de Zubitxea en su fachada.

The clock of Zubitxea consists of a black metal ring with markings for the hours (the 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock are larger), with no numbers, and a sheet of glass that covers the hands, also black. The hour hand shows a circle near its end.
The building located in this same place, which housed a branch of the Banco de Vizcaya, was destroyed during the bombardments of May 1937, in the Spanish Civil War.
In the 1950s, under the project called 'Devastated Regions', the buildings bombed during the war were reconstructed.
In the 1960s, once again a bank occupied the ground floor and first floor of this building, and this clock was placed on the façade that faced what was then called Plaza Zubitxea.
The last bank that was present in these premises was Banco Pastor, and since 2015, the Alberdi butcher shop has had the Zubitxea clock on its façade.
