Midden in de bossen tussen Borger en Exloo vind je een schuilhut gelegen aan fiets en wandelpaden.
"In boswachterij Exloo wisselen gesloten naald- en loofbos, open heide en stuifzanden elkaar af. Boswachterij Exloo ligt op de Drentsche Hondsrug. In de boswachterij ligt hunebed D30. De intrigerende bouwwerken zijn vijfduizend jaar geleden gebouwd door het Trechterbekervolk. Ze dienden als gemeenschappelijk graf. Wie goed kijkt, ziet in boswachterij Exloo meer sporen uit het verleden. Zomaar op een driesprong staat een markersteen bij een dikke eikenboom. Vroeger gaven zulke stenen de grens aan tussen de marken van Odoorn, Exloo en Buinen. Een stuk verder ligt de Gletsjerkuil, een soort begroeide krater die in de ijstijd is ontstaan.
In de loop van de jaren zijn de bossen uitgegroeid tot diepgroene bossen met allerlei soorten bomen. In het bos aan de Noord-Westkant van Exloo bevindt zich een uniek bos vak. In 1972 raasde er een storm over Nederland en veel van het bos in Exloo is toen verwoest. Het bos is opgeruimd en heeft zich prachtig hersteld. Eén bos vak is niet opgeruimd en hier bevind zich dan ook een uniek stukje. Het glooiende landschap maakt de boswachterij een heerlijk gebied om te wandelen, te fietsen of paard te rijden. Er zijn veel fiets- en wandelroutes aangelegd. Deze zijn te verkrijgen bij het Toeristen Informatiepunt (TIP) Borger-Odoorn, gevestigd in het Schapeninformatiecentrum in Exloo."

In the middle of the woods between Borger and Exloo you will find a shelter located on cycling and hiking trails.
"In Exloo forestry, closed coniferous and deciduous forest, open heathland and shifting sands alternate. Exloo forestry is located on the Drentsche Hondsrug. Hunebed D30 is located in the forestry. The intriguing structures were built five thousand years ago by the Funnel Beaker people. They served as a communal grave If you look closely, you will see more traces of the past in the Exloo forestry. Just like that, at a three-fork there is a marker stone near a thick oak tree. In the past, such stones marked the border between the marks of Odoorn, Exloo and Buinen. A little further on is the Glacier Pit , a kind of vegetated crater that was created in the ice age.
Over the years, the forests have grown into deep green forests with all kinds of trees. There is a unique forest section in the forest on the north-western side of Exloo. In 1972 a storm raged over the Netherlands and much of the forest in Exloo was destroyed. The forest has been cleaned up and has recovered beautifully. One forest box has not been cleaned up and there is a unique piece here. The rolling landscape makes the forestry a wonderful area for walking, cycling or horse riding. Many cycling and walking routes have been laid out. These can be obtained from the Tourist Information Point (TIP) Borger-Odoorn, located in the Sheep Information Center in Exloo."
