Il ne restera donc plus qu’un seul médecin à Terre-de-Haut. Le docteur Matthieu Levy-Loeb qui passe une partie de sa semaine à Terre-de-Bas. Quelle que soit la décision de son confrère, il assurera la continuité des soins sur l’île. En tant qu’ancien urgentiste au CHU, voir sa patientèle doubler certains jours ne lui fait pas peur. Il assure déjà les astreintes de tous les week-ends depuis son arrivée il y a 4 mois et doit tenir ce rythme jusqu’à la fin de l’année encore. Il se prépare donc à une surcharge de travail mais, comme il le dit lui-même, son confrère a bien tenu toute une année tout seul à Terre-de-Haut.
De son côté, l’ARS-Guadeloupe considère que le Dr Cassin est toujours en poste, donc pas encore suspendu et donc pas encore susceptible d’être remplacé. D’ailleurs le sera-t-il ?
L’unique infirmière libérale de l’île nous a confié que le départ annoncé du médecin perturbe et chagrine énormément ses patients. Et elle s’interroge : pourquoi un médecin non vacciné mettrait-il en danger à lui tout seul une population –elle- largement vaccinée ? Et Pourquoi priver les habitants de Terre-de-Haut de leur médecin historique?
