Cruz erigida en recuerdo del patriota de Villamoronta, Tomás Montes, ajusticiado en 1810 por la soldadesca francesa en la carretera de Palencia Grijota en 1820.
Remodelada la carretera como Avda. de Asturias, la cruz fue cambiada de emplazamiento y ubicada en el lugar que ahora ocupa y la inscripción repintada. Dicha inscripción pone: "En el año de 1810 fue enclavado en un árbol en este sitio por los opresores de la Patria el inocente Thomas Montes, vecino de Villamoronta. R.I.P.
Se hizo a expensas de la cofradía del Santo Pradillo en 1820".

Cross erected in memory of the Villamoronta patriot, Tomás Montes, executed in 1810 by the French soldiery on the Palencia Grijota road in 1820.
The road was remodeled as Avda. de Asturias, the cross was relocated and located in the place it now occupies and the inscription was repainted. This inscription says: "In the year 1810, the innocent Thomas Montes, a resident of Villamoronta, was nailed to a tree on this site by the oppressors of the country. R.I.P.
It was made at the expense of the Santo Pradillo brotherhood in 1820".
