On ANZAC Day in 2019, Pou Maumahara was unveiled in the Passchendaele Memorial Park in Zonnebeke. The wood sculpture in honor of the New Zealand Maori and other World War I soldiers is located next to the Memorial Museum Passchendaele 1917.

"The totem is 8 meters high and weighs 6 tons. The monument symbolizes the common history that our country and New Zealand share. One side of the sculpture represents the war and faces the battlefields around Passchendaele. The other side represents the people who have remained in the homeland

The memorial totem was made by master carvers and art school students from a native wood, which is more than 4,500 years old."
