The grounds and the golf course have within them the remains of the former Barnsley Canal. Although there is no longer much water in the canal, a wooden footbridge crosses the canal to give access to both sides of the course.
The club has golf professionals that are certified instructors that can give lessons and coaching to all levels including video analysis.
