Die Neue reformierte Kirche, im Volksmund nach der Straße, an der sie steht, "Sophienkirche" genannt, ist das zweite für die reformierte Kirche des heutigen Wuppertaler Stadtteils Elberfeld errichtete Gotteshaus.
Die Kirche wurde 1853 begonnen und am 26. März 1858 eingeweiht. Der Bau gehört architektonisch dem so genannten Rundbogenstil an, der den Übergang vom Klassizismus zum Historismus bestimmte und antike wie romanische Formen aufnahm. Architekt war der damalige Kölner Dombaumeister und Schinkel-Schüler Ernst Friedrich Zwirner. Das Gebäude ist nach Norden ausgerichtet, der Südfassade ist mittig ein achteckiger Turm (63 m) auf einem quadratischen Unterbau vorgesetzt, durch den das Hauptportal führt. Das Äußere der Kirche ist mit Sandstein und Grauwacke verblendet.

The church was begun in 1853 and dedicated on March 26, 1858. Architecturally, the building belongs to the so-called round arch style, which determined the transition from classicism to historicism and took up both ancient and Romanesque forms. The architect was Ernst Friedrich Zwirner, the master builder from Cologne at the time and a student of Schinkel. The building is north-facing, with an octagonal tower (63 m) in the centre of the south facade on a square base through which the main portal passes. The church's exterior is faced with sandstone and greywacke.
