The Alcañiz Town Hall is one of the most beautiful examples of Aragonese Renaissance architecture. It is located in the Plaza de España, forming an angle with the fish market. Both buildings were declared a Site of Historic-Artistic Interest in 1931. This building was completed in 1570, after five years of work.

Its main façade is a magnificent Mannerist work. It was all made of stone. On the ground floor, in its central part, there is a large opening in a semicircular arch flanked by columns with Doric capitals that support the entablature that separates it from the second body. On both sides of the access door there are two large lintelled openings. The main floor also has three openings, although the central one was closed when the city's coat of arms was added in 1771. The two lintelled windows and the large central coat of arms are flanked by columns similar to those of the lower body but with Ionic capitals. In turn, these windows support another large entablature on which three triangular pediments rest with pyramids at their ends.
On the third floor is the typical Aragonese gallery, although in this case the arches are supported by graceful columns that give it greater elegance. The whole complex is crowned by a large wooden eaves, with two lines of corbels, and decorated with ovas, acanthus and coffered ceilings with ornamental motifs.
