These are pictures of Lovelace Drugstore, named for Roland Lovelace and Valerie Pickel Lovelace. It is located in historic downtown Ocean Springs. It was the Bailey Drug Store before the Lovelaces' took over in 1942. The second floor of the building was the home of the E.R. Moore Company of Chicago, manufacturers of gym suits and caps and gowns in 1950. In 1951, the Ferson Optical Company, founded by Fred B. Ferson, located in temporary quarters of the second floor of the Bailey Building. The drugstore is still up and running strong. When you enter the building, you step back in time--from the set-up to the old-time smells. I am unsure of when the older photo was taken, but it had to be sometime in the early 1940's to the 1950's. The new photo was taken February of 2007.
Year photo was taken: Sometime between the early 1940's to 1950's.
