A rocky area in Himmelstalund with over 1,700 Bronze Age rock carvings. The area is very handicap-friendly.
A wooden path around the entire area makes it wheelchair accessible. Furthermore, each information sign is written in both regular letters and Braille.
Among the many motifs there are 600 ships of different sizes. There are small boats but also boats with up to 50 people. There are also hunting scenes, a large herd of wild boars being hunted by several people. Weapons such as daggers, axes and spears can be seen in several places. Several symbols are represented on the rocks, sun wheels, spirals and net-like symbols found only in Östergötland (see picture).
The rock carvings are made in two different ways. Some pictures where the contours are carved and others where the whole figure is carved.
In the vicinity of Norrköping there are several similar areas with rock carvings.
