[FIN] Arkkitehti Frithiof Strandellin piirtämä nelikerroksinen tehdasrakennus toimi kutomona jossa on valmistettu mm sarka-kangasta venäjän armeijan sotilaspukuihin. Tehdas on välillä kukoistanut ja lopulta 1976 rakennuksessa ollut lankakehräämö lopetti toimintansa. Alueelle oli noussut vuosien varrella monta teollisuusrakennusta, mutta ne ovat nykyään purettuja. Ainoastaan tämä Verkahovi nimellä myös tunnettu kolmion muotoinen rakennus on jäljellä.
Rakennuksessa oli pitkään monia pieniä vaatealan yrityksiä. Nykyään siinä on vanhusten palvelukoti ja pieni supermarket sekä joitakin pieniä liikkeitä ja toimistoja.
Kun saavut verkatehtaalle kaupungin keskustassa kutomonkatua pitkin, tulet kutomonkadun ja Kankurinkadun risteykseen, niin näet parhaiten suuren tiilirakennuksen "flatiron" muodon.

The factory has flourished from time to time and finally in 1976 the yarn spinning mill in the building stopped operating.
Many industrial buildings had gone up in the area over the years, but they have now been demolished. Only this triangular building, also known as Verkahovi, remains. For a long time, the building housed many small clothing companies. Today it houses a care home for the elderly and a small supermarket, as well as some small shops and offices.
When you arrive at the factory in the city center along Kutomonkatu, you come to the intersection of Kutomonkatu and Kankurinkatu, and you can best see the "flatiron" shape of the large brick building with tower.
