Who has never wondered what these bizarre symbols in the sidewalk of the city were?

I noticed that there were several of them in the city for a few years but I never knew what they were. With my curiosity, I decided to do some research and found out they were no more no less than the planets of our solar system implanted in the urban network at the scale of the City of Chaves. These symbols were implanted there to help us understand how wide the solar system is, whether we are talking about the distance between the planets and the sun but also the size of the planets.

The route with 10 symbols starts at the very beginning of the pedestrian bridge with the Sun represented a circle with 62cm in diameter, followed on the same bridge by the symbols of 3 planets: Mercury at a distance of 26 meters from the Sun; Venus, 28 meters away; the Earth at the end of the bridge 67 meters away. Coming down, by the river banks, we can find Mars, 102 meters away from the Sun. Jupiter is localized on the Largo do Arrabalde before entering the Street of Santo Antonio, 347 meters away; Saturn is on the Garden of Bacalhau, 638 meters away; Uranus is half way of the Avenida Nuno Álvares Pereira, 1281 meters away from the Sun; and Neptune close to the MiniPreço supermarket, 2006 meters away. The route ends with the dwarf planet Pluto 2632 meters away, with a diameter of 1mm, close to the Lidl supermarket.

This way, walking through some streets of the city, we travel through the Solar System which is an original way to learn or learn again."
