This advertising column is located outside of and just northeast of the Michigan Union which is the central hub on campus for students at the University of Michigan at 530 S State St, Ann Arbor, MI 48109.

The column is a concrete cylinder of approximately 10 feet height. There is protruding ring around the top of the column that is covered by a banner advertisement. On the main ring are hundreds of flyers that are affixed in many layers. They don't always survive long In the harsh Michigan elements. These columns are scattered throughout the campus and have been there since at least my freshman year of 1987.
