Sunken Gardens is listed in the National Geographic Guide to Public Gardens
300 Best Gardens to Visit in the United States and Canada. They were built in 1930 and have been upgraded many times since.
At the west entrance from the parking area is the Rotary Pavilion. This consists of concentric circles of brick pavers surrounded by small potted trees and plants under a pavilion held up by ionic columns. At the center of all this is the community commemoration.
It is for the centennial celebration of the
Rotary International in Lincoln, Nebraska. The seal of the Rotary is at the very center - a blue and silver metal disk with the traditional symbol. In a concrete circle surrounding this is the dedication:
