The Kanagawa Prefectural Government Main Building has a nickname called "The King's Tower". Visitors can tour this government building, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, which has been introduced on TV and in magazines as an attractive building in Yokohama.

Visiting hour is; 8:00-17:15.

according to the history of Kanagawa Prefecture, September 21, 1868 marks the beginning of Kanagawa Prefecture. At the same time, Yokohama City Hall became the first Kanagawa Prefectural Office!

Later, Kanagawa Prefecture was damaged by the Great Kanto Earthquake in September 1923, and the prefectural office building was destroyed by fire.

The main building was re-contructed on October 31, 1928. It is a steel-framed reinforced concrete structure with five stories above ground and one below, and the central tower is 48.6 meters high.
