Personal experience at the location.
Today was a very windy day and on top of that, I did not arrive at the Zandmotor at low tide... So not a lot of luck with finding fossils today. Will have to try again at a later time.

"Finding fossils in the Netherlands is easiest at the beach. Sand is sprayed to preserve the coast. This means that sand is sucked into the sea to widen beaches. Fossils sometimes come from the deep and wash ashore by the current. The Zandmotor below Kijkduin is such a good fossil site.

Why are there so many fossils to be found at the Sand Motor?
In the last ice age, the North Sea was still dry land. There were mammoths and saber-toothed tigers roaming around. The remains of those animals are sometimes preserved in the sand under the water. 21.5 million cubic meters of sand was needed to build the Sand Motor. All that sand was taken from the North Sea 10 kilometers from the coast. Fossils have also been deposited on the Zandmotor near Kijkduin with the sucked up sand. Although rarer, it is also possible to find stone tools such as hunter-gatherer hand axes."

Fossils: yes Gems: no Meteorites: no Minerals: no Rock Types: Fossils are best found at low tide. Or after a storm because a lot washes ashore. Do your search often, because the chances are higher. On the street, innumerable fossils can sometimes be found in natural stone paving and facade decoration. You cannot take these with you, but you can admire them. Just don't expect to find a whole mammoth skeleton on the beach, you'll still have to go to the museum for that.
