Geneva, SWITZERLAND and Shinagawa, JAPAN signed a Friendship City Agreement on September 9, 1991.
The following year, the Shinagawa-Geneva Friendship Association was created to support cultural, economic, tourism, and sports exchanges between the two municipalities.
Since then, the ward has been active in exchange programs, and the people of Geneva have also been exchanging with each other.
