The Providence River Boat Company offers narrated daily tours in Downtown Providence, Rhode Island, from April through October. Our guide and captain took us on a 50-minute cruise from the Dyer Street Landing dock to "explore the Providence River, Riverwalk, Waterplace Park, the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier and the Providence Industrial Harbor...[to] highlight historical, nautical and architectural points of interest." Tours operate in open-air pontoon boats with bench seating for about 18-20 passengers. We were fortunate to have perfect Autumn weather for our late-afternoon tour which was both informative and relaxing.

Cruises may be reserved on line or in person. The ticket counter is just across Dyer Street, about 100 feet west from the dock.
