Lincoln Penny - Lincoln, NE - Giants of Commerce on Waymarking.com

This huge Lincoln penny measures about 5 feet in diameter and sits on the side of the James McGrath - Prudential Financial building at 205 S 9th St, Lincoln, NE 68508 even though it is an advertisement for the Lincoln Federal Savings Bank at 84th and Van Dorn Streets.

Interestingly the penny on the wall has the year 1906 as its date of minting since that is the year the bank came into existence but the Lincoln penny did not replace the Indian Head penny until 1909, 3 years later.
