"Designed as a "place given to daytime shows", the Arena del Sole was inaugurated in 1810. It was originally an open arena. Transformed in the mid-1900s into a "covered" theater, at the end of a long period of renovation, it was returned to the public in 1995, when the Nuova Scena Cooperative took over its management. Passed under the aegis of ERT in 2014, thanks to the new layout of the building designed in the last part of the last century, the Arena del Sole now programs its shows on two spaces: the large Leo de Berardinis Room , and the medium-sized Thierry Salmon Room. In addition to the Arena del Sole, ERT manages the small atelier of the Teatro delle Moline and the space for theatrical residences of Villa Pini in Bologna."
