Culemborg Blues is a free blues festival that takes place annually in Culemborg on the fourth Saturday of August. The first edition was held in 1994 in the historic center of Culemborg. It was voted best European Blues Festival in 2019.

"The main stage is on the Markt at the foot of the town hall. About twenty (inter)national blues bands play on the various stages, both indoors and outdoors. The 25th edition took place in 2018.
All kinds of blues styles are represented and there is room for young talent. Ana Popovic, Leif de Leeuw, Dan Owen and Laurence Jones already played at the festival before they became nationally known. Another example is the “Kids in the Blues” project; where children are given the opportunity to gain stage experience.
Traditionally, the festival starts with a “dinosaur” from the Dutch blues scene, such as Flavium, Barrelhouse, Jan Akkerman, Livin' Blues, or Bertus Borgers. Headliners in recent years: Popa Chubby, Ian Siegal, Johnny Mastro, Devon Allman, King King, Henrick Freischlader, Matt Schofield and Band of Friends.
On the Friday evening before Culemborg Blues, the “The Night before the Day After” is organized by the Culemborg catering industry. Blues and rock bands then play in various catering establishments. In 2019, for the first time, there will also be a “The Day After the Night Before” on the Sunday afternoon after the festival.
The organization is in the hands of the Culemborg Blues Foundation."
