It is, without a doubt, one of the most striking images of Portuguese beaches, with its colorful “Palheiros”, current bathing houses painted with colorful and contrasting stripes. Costa Nova enchants for its charm, which reminds us of the second half of the 19th century, but also for the spectacular landscapes of the Ria and the oceanic sunsets.
Like Praia da Barra, the quality of the beach has been certified with the Blue Flag since 1989 and has also been “Accessible Beach, Beach for All” since 2002.

Gastronomy – fresh grilled fish, seafood, cod, stews and fish stews (including eels), snacks – barnacles, “coast shrimp”, fish soups, “tripas” (regional sweet from this beach, stuffed with chocolate or eggs moles, among others) and custard tarts.
Handicrafts – sailor’s knots, miniatures of bottled vessels, hammocks and tableware – Vista Alegre type and traditional Portuguese faience, basketry and nautical decorative elements, etc…
To visit – architectural ensemble of the Arrais Ançã pavement (includes the "haystacks" with colored stripes on a white background), Costa Nova Fish Market, Fisherman's Wharf, Costa Nova Sailing Club, Nossa Senhora da Saúde Avenue and Creative Wharf
Parties / Events – Ria a Gosto – Costa Nova Seafood Festival, Costa Nova Sardine Festival, party in honor of Nossa Senhora da Saúde (3rd weekend in September), Marolas initiative, Miss Activo Cup, Gastronomy Festival de Bordo - Ílhavo, etc...
