"The most characteristic image of Costa Nova is that of its promenade, in which there are wooden barns, painted in stripes of strong colors, alternated with white. Built by fishermen to shelter or store their fishing gear, these barns have been restored and today are pleasant vacation homes.
Bathed by a rough sea, appreciated by surfers, Costa Nova do Prado Beach has an extensive sandbank that extends south towards Vagueira Beach, where walkers will find an appropriate space for it. Across the road, the Ría de Aveiro with its calm waters, excellent for sailing and windsurfing, provides a completely different landscape.
