The Amphitheatre Breechkaul is a man-made cave in the Luxembourg Sand stone. The cave is used both as a stage and backstage. The walls create excellent acoustics, while the location in the middle of a forest makes the place unique.

The place was discovered by a local teacher, Edmond Steyer and he got the idea to create an amphitheater in the cave. Together with Jean Friedrich from the Ministry of Tourism, they managed to get permits and raise money for the amphitheater. The Amphitheater was erected in 1979.

The many circular marks on the rock walls in the cave are relicts from the time that millstones used to be extracted here. It is most likely that the first millstones were broken here 2000 years ago by the Romans.

Concerts and plays are performed on the location during summertime. The place was inaugurated with a Hubertusmesse (St Hubert mass) which is held since then every year and is still popular.
