This beautifully carved wooden confessional is one of two confessionals located at the back of the cathedral.

St. Dunstan's Basilica was formally dedicated on 24 September 1919. It was built after a fire destroyed the previous cathedral in 1913.

Since the 1980s, St. Dunstan's has been undergoing extensive restoration work to strengthen and clean the building.

It was designated as a National Historic Site of Canada in 1990.
