[EN] The large memorial stone tells of the deaths of two firefighters, Helge Lauren and Turkka Hurme, in an explosion caused by a large fire. It took place on August 12, 1955 in the village of Sikilä in Lieto on the Mäki farm.
The Turku District Fire Officers' Association donated the monument and takes care of its preservation. The image engraved on the stone was designed by the artist Voitto Vikainen.
FIN] Suurikokoinen muistokivi kertoo kahden palomiehen, Helge Laurenin ja Turkka Hurmeen, kuolemasta suuren tulipalon aiheuttamassa räjähdyksessä. Se tapahtui elokuun 12. päivänä vuonna 1955 Liedon Sikilän kylässä Mäen tilalla. Turun Piirin Palopäällystöyhdistys lahjoitti muistomerkin ja huolehtii sen vaalimisesta. Kiveen kaiverretun kuvan on suunnitellut taiteilija Voitto Vikainen.
