Die 11,40 Meter hohe Großplastik „Syrmel“ aus korrodiertem Stahl wurde von Robert Schad speziell für den Kreisverkehr in der Nürnberger Straße entworfen und dort 2018 aufgestellt.
In seiner dynamischen Anmutung öffnet es sich nach allen Seiten. Mit Blickrichtung auf die Altstadt nimmt das Kunstwerk die Farbigkeit der Ziegeldächer und die Form der Türme auf. Das tonnenschwere Material steht gegen die Zartgliedrigkeit der künstlerisch simulierten Bewegung:
„Syrmel“ wirkt leicht – die Plastik scheint einfach auf der Grasnarbe abgestellt worden zu sein. Nachts ist das Kunstwerk beleuchtet und enthaltet dann einen ganz besonderen Zauber.

The 11.40-meter-high large sculpture "Syrmel" made of corroded steel was designed by Robert Schad especially for the traffic circle in Nürnberger Straße and installed there in 2018.
In its dynamic appearance, it opens up on all sides. Facing the old town, the artwork picks up the colorfulness of the tiled roofs and the shape of the towers. The material, which weighs tons, contrasts with the delicacy of the artistically simulated movement:
"Syrmel" appears light - the sculpture seems to have simply been placed on the turf. At night, the artwork is illuminated and then contains a very special magic.
