History
Already at the end of the 19th century , with the growth of Vigo thanks to the industrial and port push, the construction of a new parish church was studied by the contractors Cerviño and Senra. In the summer of 1882 , the location of the new temple was decided, which would change several times, to finally be located in the so-called Campo del Rey at that time , today García Barbón avenue. Manuel Felipe Quintana is in charge of the project, he drafts it in 1896 , and after several stops due to various economic problems, it is finished in 1907 . The initial project considered two tall towers on the main façade, which had to be cut down.

Description and style
The church made of granite stonework has a historicist medieval cut, it consists of four facades, with the main one in neo-Gothic style, although its forms are not slender and diaphanous, but it has a heavy appearance due to its large solid surfaces. The temple, although quite stuffed, forms an entire square to take advantage of the light and consists of a rectangular floor plan with three naves without a transept, the central nave is larger than the lateral ones, from which it is separated by pointed arches. The choir is located above the entrance portico. The side naves receive light through the bays of pointed arches, while the central nave, the largest, receives light through small rosettes with three lobes inscribed inside that are raised above the nave on the façade. principal. The vaults are ribbed , with lateral buttresses , finished inneogothic pinnacles . The apse is lit by three large ogival windows in the apse , the apse is polygonal and is framed in a rectangle in which the sacristies are located.
