Roger Williams Paddle Trail: put-in at South Water Street Landing at Providence River Park in the state capitol, Providence, Rhode Island. This public kayak and canoe launch is right Downtown on South Water Street and offers access to the Providence, Wonnasquatucket, Moshassuck, and Seekonk Rivers and Providence Harbor. (CAUTION: Beyond the hurricane barrier the Port of Providence is busy with commercial ship traffic.)

The Roger Williams Paddle Trail offers two beginners tours that trace the 1636 route of the state's founder, Roger Williams, and his followers. Narraganset Bay is also accessible from this launch. Be prepared for tidal currents and stay close by the shoreline to avoid large vessels.

Parking/put-in/launching information:
Public, metered on-street parking along South Water Street (no overnight parking); hand-carry to hard surface boat ramp (no trailers or vehicles) and broad concrete steps; approximately 75 feet from car drop-off point; the site is not ADA accessible.
