Capture of Antwerpen (start of WWI)

"The Siege of Antwerp took place at the beginning of the First World War. The attackers were German troops , reinforced by 30.5 cm siege mortars from the Austro-Hungarian artillery . The fortress was defended by Belgian forces , supported by British marines . The siege ended with the fortress having to capitulate and the Belgian field army withdrew to West Flanders. The city was occupied by German troops until November 1918."
