In the northern end of the Qatar pavillion at the Floriade in Almere is an unusual tower. It is an open framework in the shape of one of their pigeon towers. Inside are solar panels and small windmills to collect solar and wind energy. I don't know if the energy collected is somehow used, I couldn't find more information other than the sign next to it.
