Crownprincess Mary's bench is located in the village of Gjógv, on top of a cliff overlooking the sea. It is a very simple wooden bench. On the bench there is a metal sign with the text "Mary's bench 2005". There has previously been a crown above the sign, but it has disappeared. However, the view of the place is amazing.
In 2005, the Danish Crownprince Frederik and Crownprincess Mary visited the Faroe Islands on an official visit. It was the first time that Mary visited the Faroe Islands and in Gjógv this bench was dedicated to her.
