NL Op de Floriade 2022 in Almere heeft Japan een paviljoen gemaakt in de vorm van een traditionele boerderij. Deze wordt omringd door een Japanse tuin.

Het paviljoen van Japan is geïnspireerd door de traditionele ecologische levensstijl waarin tuin, landbouwgrond en bos nauw verbonden zijn. Het thema ‘Satoyama’ verwijst naar een gebied dat bestaat uit landbouwgronden, irrigatievijvers, bossen en graslanden rondom de steden en dorpjes. De landschappen van Satoyama zijn gevormd door diverse menselijke ingrepen in de loop van een lange geschiedenis. De inwoners gaan heel bewust met om met natuurlijke grondstoffen, waardoor een rijke levenscultuur is ontstaan waarin de mensen in harmonie met de omgeving leven.

The Japan Pavilion is inspired by the traditional ecological lifestyle in which garden, farmland and forest are closely linked. The theme 'Satoyama' refers to an area consisting of farmland, irrigation ponds, forests and grasslands surrounding the towns and villages. The landscapes of Satoyama have been shaped by various human interventions over a long history. The inhabitants are very conscious of natural resources, creating a rich culture of life in which people live in harmony with the environment.
