[DE] "Die MDCC-Arena, im Sprachgebrauch auch Heinz-Krügel-Stadion, ist ein Fußballstadion in der sachsen-anhaltischen Landeshauptstadt Magdeburg. Es wurde im Dezember 2006 eröffnet und entstand an der Stelle des ehemaligen Ernst-Grube-Stadions. Der Hauptnutzer der Anlage ist der 1. FC Magdeburg.
Die MDCC-Arena ist ein reines Fußballstadion. Die Zuschauerränge sind komplett überdacht und bieten ein maximales Fassungsvermögen von knapp 30.000 Besuchern. Für Ligaspiele standen bis zum Abschluss von Umbaumaßnahmen zuvor 22.750 Sitz- und 4500 Stehplätze zur Verfügung. Die Stehplätze konnten auf 2500 Sitzplätze umgerüstet werden. Bei Länderspielen standen 25.000 Sitzplätze zur Verfügung. Dazu kamen 15 Logen, die insgesamt 180 Plätze bieten und 430 Businessclubplätze. Für Behinderte standen 64, für die Presse 40 Plätze bereit. Das Flutlicht ist am Dach fest installiert. Die Zuschauer werden durch zwei Videowände informiert. Außerdem verfügt das Stadion über eine Rasenheizung.
In der Saison 2015/16 ergaben Messungen an den Zuschauertribünen des Stadions während Spielen, dass diese durch das gleichmäßige Hüpfen der Fans bis zu 3 cm in Schwingung versetzt werden. Danach wurde die Lebensdauer der Konstruktion neu berechnet und von 50 auf 17,5 Jahre reduziert.
Das Stadion wurde unter der Bezeichnung Stadion Magdeburg eröffnet. Im Juli 2009 wurde der Magdeburger Telekommunikationsanbieter MDCC Magdeburg-City-Com durch einen Sponsoringvertrag Namensgeber, woraufhin das Stadion in MDCC-Arena umbenannt wurde. Der Vertrag läuft bis zum 30. Juni 2024, erlaubt bei einem finanziell höheren Angebot jedoch einen Quereinstieg. Die Fans des 1. FC Magdeburg setzen sich für eine Umbenennung in Heinz-Krügel-Stadion ein, um den ehemaligen Trainer Heinz Krügel zu ehren, unter dem der Verein u. a. 1974 den Europapokal der Pokalsieger gewann. Im Sprachgebrauch ist der Name Heinz-Krügel-Stadion, kurz HKS, bereits etabliert. Teilweise wird auch der Name des vorherigen Stadions an gleicher Stelle, Ernst-Grube-Stadion, verwendet."

[EN] "MDCC-Arena", in common parlance also Heinz-Krügel-Stadion, is a soccer stadium in the Saxony-Anhalt state capital Magdeburg. It was opened in December 2006 and was built on the site of the former Ernst-Grube Stadium. The main user of the facility is the 1st FC Magdeburg.
The MDCC Arena is a pure soccer stadium. The spectator stands are completely covered and offer a maximum capacity of almost 30,000 visitors. For league games, 22,750 seats and 4500 standing places were previously available until the completion of renovation work. Standing room could be converted to 2500 seats. For international matches, 25,000 seats were available. In addition, there were 15 boxes offering a total of 180 seats and 430 business club seats. There were 64 seats for the disabled and 40 for the press. The floodlights are permanently installed on the roof. The spectators are informed by two video walls. The stadium also has a turf heating system.
In the 2015/16 season, measurements of the stadium's spectator stands during matches showed that they vibrate up to 3 cm due to the fans' steady bouncing. The service life of the structure was then recalculated and reduced from 50 to 17.5 years.
The stadium was opened under the name Stadion Magdeburg. In July 2009, Magdeburg's telecommunications provider MDCC Magdeburg-City-Com became the naming sponsor through a sponsorship agreement, whereupon the stadium was renamed MDCC-Arena. The contract runs until June 30, 2024, but allows for a lateral move if a financially higher offer is made. Fans of 1. FC Magdeburg are campaigning for the stadium to be renamed Heinz-Krügel-Stadion to honor former coach Heinz Krügel, under whom the club won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1974, among other titles. The name Heinz-Krügel-Stadion, or HKS for short, is already established in linguistic usage. In some cases, the name of the previous stadium on the same site, Ernst-Grube-Stadion, is also used."
