Camping Schoneveld in Ruurlo has been completely renovated in recent years after it was sold to a new owner. One of the changes is the creation of a new small animal pasture. Goats, sheep, a donkey, a pig and chickens walk in that meadow. There is climbing material for the goats. For example, they can climb on tree trunks and on an old two-wheeled agricultural car, in this areas known as "stortkar". It is an original cart as they were used in the past here in the area.

An "stortkar" is a cart that was used on farms in ancient times for the transport of heavy materials such as manure from the deep litter, sod, soil and beets.

The "stortkar" consisted of an axle box, two twelve-spoke wheels, a loading platform and burries. The "stortkar" differed from other carts in that the burries and the carrying beams - the beams on which the loading platform rested - consisted of separate parts. Lengthwise, the burries ran to about halfway up the outside of the struts to which they were pivoted. In this way, the loading platform with a harnessed horse could be tilted. To prevent the body from tipping over during a ride, burries and carrying beams were connected to each other. This was done in various ways, for example by means of a wooden beam, often called loading timber, an iron bar, a chain or two hooks. Depending on the region, the placement and the materials used differed. If you wanted to unload the load with a horse in harness, you could simply loosen the connection between burries and carrying beams, so that when burries remained horizontal, the barge folded backwards. An "stortkar" was made to order by the wheelwright. The dimensions therefore vary slightly. Typical dimensions of an earth cart are: length 4.20 m, width 2.00 m, height 1.70 m, track width 1.55 and wheel diameter 1.40 m. The load capacity of an earth cart is 800 to 1000 kg.
